I hung out with my mommy on Saturday instead of Sunday. And we didn't really consider it a "Mother's Day" event cuz my parents don't celebrate any American holidays. lol. We were just talking, laughing & she caught me up on all of her friends' (whom I don't know) business. So I was just like "Oh, ok..." lol. Don't care what we talk about or do. I just like being around her. She makes me feel peaceful.
I made Bre's mom a cool Mother's Day card (that took forever cuz I was watching the Hawks vs. Cavs game & getting pissed off.) I would post it on here but I forgot to take a picture of it like a dummy.
Anyhoos, I woke up to my own handmade Mother's Day card from my doggy Brando :-D Actor made it for me. It had Happy Mother's Day on the outside & Brando's paw on the inside. Best card I've ever gotten.
Actor had to draw & cut all of the letters for the card out individually & said that he has so much respect for my card business now. Said it took him forever & he could barely cut out the letters & make it look good/ neat. I make all of my cards from scratch. I draw & cut out everything from the letters to the pictures & etc. Usually takes me 1-2 hrs. for one card.
It's pretty cool for people to try to do what you do & realize it's not as easy as it looks. I bet if I tried to write a rap song for him it would come out jacked up. Or I'd stick to what most rappers do nowadays & just do rhyming sentences with absolutely no word play, whack deliveries & off key singing. Oops, did I just sneek a diss in there? That would be a yes...
Anyhoos, on Sunday we took Actor's mom out to this sea food restaurant. I don't really do the whole Captain D's fried seafood deal but this was a greatttt restaurant. Definitely not fast food. I ordered this sampler plate of different fried seafoods & MANNNNNNNN. When I tell you that they brought out the plate & it was stack like half a foot tall? I am NOT LYING. I should've taken a picture of it. I've been slacking on my camera duty. Geesh.
I thought they were gonna give me 1 or 2 pc of each thing but I had like a gazillion big pieces of fish, jumbo shrimp, deviled crab, oysters, and Lord knows what else... And their hush puppies were shaped like onion rings & were the diameter of a baseball. lol. I'm not even kidding!
Me & Actor had 3 to go boxes of leftovers. Yea.... THAT much food.
All in all it was a great Mother's Day weekend. I hope everyone spent time with your moms and/or loved ones who are like moms.
Be blessed

HAWKS, HATTON & KFC
Man it's been a crazy couple of weeks. I barely have time to blog anymore. Boo me. Shameless to say I've actually been on Twitter lately so most of my updates have been on there. Follow me @hanhnybun if you want.
Anyhoos, here's a quick recap of everything I've been meaning to write for the last couple:
~ Why do people go crazyyy when something is free? Last week KFC gave away a piece of grilled chicken & I heard that it was mad chaos. I'm glad I missed that. This week apparently Oprah is giving away a free 2 piece meal at KFC & apparently everybody & their mama is getting their chicken ON. I went to KFC today not knowing about the giveaway & was freaking trapped in the parking lot! UGH! I didn't even want it as soon as I saw the line of cars wrapped around the drive through & the parking lot. But I couldn't even get out! Cars were every which way in & out of the parking lot in every direction. It was freaking gridlocked! IN A PARKING LOT. WTF?!
And even the inside was wrapped around to outside. OUTSIDE. Mannnn. Whoever is PR/ Marketing for KFC should get a big ass raise. Got Oprah to join the grilled chicken train. Props to you!
~ After I finally got out of the parking lot, tell me why I went to Wendy's & asked for McNuggets?... FAILED
~ Tell me why a hispanic person (I don't know man or woman as I didn't see them) just got rushed out on a stretcher in the business next to ours? Which is a hispanic business might I add? And on a tangent, tell my why I read in the news a couple of days ago that there are 2 swine flu cases in Metro Atlanta now. One where I work & one where I live. How convenient. AND the case where I work the family refused treatment & wasn't quarantined but instead told to stay at home until they got better. WHAT?! I didn't know that that was an option! How can you deny treatment to something that you know you're sick with? That's just insanity to me, but who am I to judge right?
So excuse me if I'm all swine flu paranoid right now if someone in the same building as me has to be rushed out on a stretcher. I'm hoping it's not worst case scenario. *crosses fingers*
~ One of the coworkers that I actually liked quit Friday. And I just found out yesterday. I didn't even get to say bye! Moped... My last conversation with her was when I thought she was going out for an appointment. She said bye & I said "Where are you going?" as in "Which appt. are you going to?" and she said "I don't know" & hugged me & that was it.
Looking back now I see how she would've thought that I knew. Boo. How come the people that I don't like are still here? haha.
~ I'm trying to tone up for the beach. Me & Actor are going with my sister & her fam. It'll be the 1st time that my sis & Actor meet so I'm excited about that. And I REFUSE to wear a bikini if I'm not toned by then.
~ We watched the unrated version of Hitman last night. It was popping as hell. Dunno why people gave it bad reviews. Maybe cuz they showed the rated version at the theaters. But if you've already seen it watch it again with the unrated version. It was realllly good.
~ I bought 180 VHS tapes for $30. haha. Don't ask. I had to buy a VCR to even watch them. But it's been so fun catching up on old movies that I've never seen before. I.E. Matrix. Dances With Wolves. Conspiracy Theory, etc. Yes I've never seen the Matrix till this yr. Don't judge me! I went to see Matrix 2 when it came out but fell asleep cuz my date was boring.
~ Did anyone see the Pacquiao/ Hatton fight? MANNNNNNNNN. I already knew Hatton was going down but I don't think ANYBODY thought it was gonna be that quick. Lol! As soon as Pacquiao knocked him down the 1st time in the 1st round I knew it was over. I KNEW Hatton was going down in the 2nd round. DEFINITELY. Should've betted but I forgot to.
~ And Pacquiao vs. Mayweather? I'm sorry but I've got my money on Mayweather. I love both of them & they're both quick & strong but I think Mayweather is stronger. Now if only he would stop talking so much shit... But that's gonna be a GREAT fight. And I will be watching :-)
~ We watched game 7 of the Hawks vs. Heat & was so happy that the Hawks won. Mannn we were so crunk on a Sunday. lol! I feel so bad for them though cuz there's probably no way that they're going through King James. I missed the 1st game but hope they win at least one game with the Cavs.
~ We went to eat Pho (Vietnamese cuisine) after the game. It was delicious! I actually got Pho instead of the Vermicelli dish that I usually get. Yummm

So anyhoos, here are the haps:
~ Brando buried his bone in the backyard last night. It was so cute.

~ Can't wait for the boys to open presents too. They're gonna love their gifts. *tricky smile*
~ I got an 8gb memory card for my new camera for only $19 on NEWEGG.COM Love that site! Just recently discovered it. :-)
~ Made a new recipe last night: Baked chicken with cream of garlic mushroom & long grain wild rice with different herbs & seasonings. Yummy!
~ I love Christmas at work. Everyone got each other so many gifts, treats & baked goods. Yippee!
~ Also love the fact that I'm off from tomorrow till Jan. 5th. PAID. lol. I love my job :-D
~ And the fact that when I come back it's gonna be 2 days from my birthday. Whoo hoo!
~ I made all of our friends & family Christmas cards. They loved them. I'll post those pictures later too.
~ Also made Brando his own stocking. Me & Actor have ours from last year. I made those too.
~ Don't know what we're doing for New Years yet. It's gonna be fun though.
~ Oh, I wanted to get Brando a Christmas T-shirt but apparently no one makes them that big so I settled for an antler headband thingy with bells. He keeps shaking it off though.
~ I'm giving him a bath today too. He's so freaking dirty. Want him nice & clean for Christmas. Gonna wear a poncho & a shower cap. haha. He doesn't like being wet.
~ I taught him to give me dap 2 days ago. I'm the coolest. And I have the smartest dog :-D
~ I have to renew my license before my birthday. Can't believe it's been 5 years since I've had it. Ugh!
2 more days till Christmas!!!!!!

WASHING OBAMA HATERS' & BITTEN HANDS WITH PINEAPPLE PORKCHOPS WHILE HOPSCOTCHING
Tell me why:
~ So many people don't wash their hands after using the restroom? That's DISGUSTING!!! Ugh! Every single time I go into our shared bathroom at work there's at least one person that doesn't wash their hands. And any other public places too. I've considered yelling "Wash your hands!" from inside my stall numerous times. But I figured if people were gonna be nasty then they wouldn't listen to me anyway. Ugh! I might just put up a sign that says "Wash your hands! It's very unsanitary for you & others if you don't... You nasty biatches!"
I guess most women are just nastyyyy. When I used to work at a retail store we got a complaint about the women's bathroom every single day. Sometimes numerous times a day. The men's bathroom never really got complaints. Maybe it's because some women are just plain old disgusting and that men are cleaner, or that women will actually take the time to go to customer service to complain & men won't.
~ Soon-to-be-out-of-office-for-good President Bush's dog bit a reporter? LMAO! There was blood too! Guess he's not ready to move out... He's not that cute of a dog either. Scruffy little thing. Well, I guess he's a little cute. I love all dogs now.
~ Beyonce's "Put a ring on it" video is banging despite the fact that the song makes me wanna gag? She looks gorgeous & the choreography is dope... BUT I'm so tired of all these "hopscotch music" songs. I desperate wish that she'd go back to the old Destiny's Child Beyonce with the soulful ballads & touching songs. Hopefully 1/2 of her new double album release will achieve that as it says it will. I know I know, she's Beyonce & she can do whatever she wants & still be hot & sell... but for the true B fans, love is slowly fading. And I've loved her since the very beginning. I remember being so happy when they won the Soul Train Lady of Soul awards & stuff. Yea, that far back... So get it together & quit all this upbeat crappy music!
~ People are such haters? I've gotten numerous reports of people making racist remarks about Obama being president. 1st of all, if you didn't vote then you have no right to complain. And for those that did, Obama clearly won so accept defeat graciously. 2nd of all, if you hate it that much then move out of the country. More elbow room for me. 3rd of all, grow up! It's 2008. F*$% race. It's all about if he's gonna be a good leader or not. Who cares what shade his skin tone is? Get a life!
~ I made pork chops for the 2nd time & loved it? Whew! It was pineapple-honey glazed with actual pineapple on the side. I made angel hair pasta & cornbread with it. Yummy! I kinda concocted my own recipe after finding this orange-honey chicken recipe online. That one was good too. I LOVE FOOD!

"YOU DON'T WANNA GO THERE CUZ I WILL RING MY BITCH BELL SO LOUD..."
The past month have been the most busy & fun month as of yet. Of this year anyway, since it's the 1st month so doesn't have any competition. lol
* My birthday party was on Jan. 12th at Hooters. It was great! Started off kind of rocky but ended really well. We were supposed to go to the Atlanta location & I called & told them like 10 times but 20 minutes before we were supposed to be there they told me that they didn't have any tables available for me. Some sorry service... So we changed it to the one near where we lived instead. It was way across town so some people couldn't find a ride/ make it so I lost about half of my party but alot of people still showed up. (The real, true, ride or die friends. lol. Boo everybody else! Still love you though :-p) We had a blast! I got great gifts :-D
* My friend Cali's birthday was this past weekend. We had an all girl's dinner on Friday (well, all girls plus one gay guy, same difference) at F.R.O.G.S. I've never been there before but we ended up having to go there because Loca Luna (I hate you guys by the way) was a horrible horrible stupid idiotic place with the worst customer service EVERRRR. We got there at 8:30pm & waited until 10:30pm and left. Mind you there was no waiting area so we sat/stood by the door where people were coming in & out & it was the freaking coldest night of the week & I gotta freaking cold as we speak. And they said that we couldn't make reservations until 10pm but people were coming in in herds & got tables immediately, cuz they, of course, had reservations. WTF man??!!!!!!
When we 1st got there they claimed that the wait was an hour. We called around & every restaurant in the vicinity was about the same so we decided to wait. An hour later it was "Oh, your table's coming up. Give us 15-20 minutes." Half an hour later it was "Oh yea, 15-20 more minutes." Half an hour more... well, you get the picture.
F.R.O.G.S was ok. I'm just not into hispanic foods like that so... ehh. Just went there cuz the birthday girl wanted to.
But yea. Boyyy. Alot of people almost got stabbed that night. By my purple suede stilettos. For realll. But none of us made a big fuss cuz we were all starving & had no energy to. In the words of our fab gay friend "You don't wanna go there cuz I will ring my bitch bell so loud... honeyyyyy"
* We went to Bazaar for our friends' mixtape release party after dinner. They brought her a chocolate cake and all. It was delish! And thennnnn.... dun dun dun... a fight breaks out! Apparently 2 guys started fighting over lord knows what & our guys had to break them up. Turns out they were on the same team. They were both our friends. Crazy I tell ya.
Actor was mad because he met us there & had only been there for half an hour & we got kicked out. lol. They kicked our 2 guys that were breaking the fight out too & the party was for their mixtape. lol. Talk about ironic.
* We spent the night at Cali's house & went to Red Robin for lunch the next day. It was greattt. One of my favorite burger joints now. They're hugeeee. lol. Our friend Meth got a monster burger & by the time he (barely) finished it he was breathing heavy & face was a little flushed. hahahaha. It was funny. And their freckled lemonades? Whew! I had like 5 of 'em. The best ever! It's lemonade with real strawberries in it. *drools*
* Me & Actor have been going shopping crazyyyy. One of the things we said that we were gonna do this year (we don't believe in NY resolutions, you should try to do better all the time, not just on a list once a year. But anyways...) was get more stuff. And indeed we did. I swear I've literally acquired 5 pairs of shoes in like 3 weeks. Including some ridiculously banging Coach shoes for a ridiculously low price. hahaha. Yayyy. :-D
That's all I can remember as of the moment. I shall write more shortly.
Toodles.
Love,
Akanke

MY EYES ARE SMALL BUT MY APPETITE IS NOT
I'm feeling greedy & hungry today so I've decided to dedicate this blog to my favorite things to eat. I'll hit all of the highlights as I know that I love to eat any & everything so there's no way that I'll remember everything or have enough time to list them all, so... And oh yea, I guess I'll categorize them, one cuz it'll make it easier for me to think of foods in the same category and two cuz I want to. So here goes...
*Appetizer*
~ Calamari. Dipped in the right sauce that is. Everybody can't make the right marinara.
~ Spinach, artichoke & cheese dip. Yum
~ Any appetizer from Friday's, notably the sesame jack chicken strips & fried mac & cheese. Did I mention that that is one of my favorite restaurants? Everything on their menu is good. I don't think I've ever had a bad meal from there. Ever.
~ Egg drop soup. My dad makes the best. He puts crab meat & bamboo shoots among other goodies in there....
*Main Entrees*
~ Anything Italian: pasta, spaghetti, ravioli, lasagna... etc.
~ Turkey burgers
~ Asian food. I like stir fried, lomein, & certain exotic dishes. I ate it all of my life growing up so only have a craving for it occasionally. Same goes for Actor with BBQ stuff. I don't like sushi though. Naw to raw. lol. The only sushi I'll eat is California rolls & maybe tempora. But it's fried so it doesn't count...
~ Steak. I'll eat a steak almost anywhere I go. If they have steak I'd probably try it. My favorite steaks are: Ihop's Top sirloin steak (believe it or not, theirs is on my top 10) Golden Corral's steak & bacon wrapped steak and when I make mine at home with A-1 NY steakhouse marinade.
~ Soul food. Man do I love me some soul food. I'm glad I got a black boyfriend. lol. (Before you start marching on me, me & Actor make racist jokes toward each other all the time. It's part of our humor. So chill out. haha) But yea, I love me some greens, corn bread, sweet potato pie, and everything inbetween. I can't wait for Christmas. More on that in another blog...
~ Jambalaya. I like California Pizza Kitchen's & mine. Just made some last night. Yay.
~ A dish we get at a this restaurant ("Pho Dai Loi" look them up!) It consists of white vermicelli (noodle), shrimp, cut up egg rolls, grilled pork (Actor's favorite part), peanuts, fried garlic & you pour fish sauce over it. Yummy.
*Desert*
~ Banana pudding
~ Sweet potato pie
~ Brownies
~ Cake & ice cream
~ Combine the previous two & you get: *drum roll*....Brownie Sundae!!! The best! Especially if the brownie is warm. "Up the Creek" has the best one.
~ Peach cobbler *drools* (Peaches are my favorite fruit & is now my favorite color. My former color was yellow.)
~ Cheesecake. With good strawberry topping. Not the extract crap. Ihop has good strawberry toppings. I get it on my French Toast combo. But I've never eaten the cheesecake thingie there... Hmm, I have a mini mission now. Off to Ihop!
~ Fried banana with ice cream. The best. Ru Sans has it.
~ This Vietnamese thingie, I shall call it wine marinaded rice cuz I have no idea what it's called. Tried to google to no avail... But anyways, it's basically rice balls in wine juice. I dunno, hard to explain but it's delicious. Has a sweet & tangy taste.
Well kids, that is all for now. I shall post my list of favorite fast food items in an upcoming post.
Till next time,
Akanke

SURIN OF THAILAND
Saturday me & Actor went to Surin of Thailand; it's our favorite Thai restaurant as of yet.
Distinct with a self-titled blue awning, Surin of Thailand is on the corner of Greenwood & North Highland Avenue. Parking is limited, but you can park on the streets or in a nearby plaza & walk there (Atlanta life for you...)
The excellent service begins at the door as you are welcomed by the host & a manager. After taking our seats we absorb in the yellow walls, trimmed with artistic photographs, beautiful bar, adorned with a massive leaning tree on top & decorative flower vases on the side, oil candles on every table, black embossed ceilings, and a hanging flag of a Buddha (don't know which one.)
The servers are always great here (we've been numerous times, the first of which was my 20th birthday) and we have a great time conversing & interacting with them. They're always pleasant & very informative about the food, which is the best Thai food we've ever had!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As usual, here is a mini breakdown of the menu:
Appetizers: $3.50- $7
Soups & Salads: $5- $9.50
Stir Fry: $8.50 for tofu or meats, $10.50 for shrimp
Curries: $10
Entrees: $9- $17
Deserts: $3.25- $6.75
Bar: Wines $4- $8 glass/ Beer: most $4
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We started with Thai iced tea (sweet tea mixed with Half & Half cream) and the papaya salad for appetizers (green papaya shreds dipped in fish sauce & comes with beef jerky & sticky rice on the side.) Now before you say "Eww gross, fish sauce" Actor lovesss it. He says fish sauce makes everything taste good. True story... So we massacred the salad (Yea it was that good) and got started on our entrees.
Actor ordered Ka Proud Lamb & I the Spicy Mixed Seafood, shown here. Sorry the lamb pic isn't as clear; I had to stretch it. They both tasted as good as they look by the way...

There were 4 pieces of lamb, garnished with mushrooms & broccoli in Ka Proud sauce, which tasted like my spicy basil sauce (sweet & salty). The seafood was a medley of New Zealand Mussels, sea scallops, plump shrimp & squid, garnished with onions, and red & green bell peppers.
We had the Chocolate Brownie Crumble Sundae for desert, which wasn't as good as we expected. The brownie was very soggy at the bottom, and it had nuts in it which Actor doesn't eat... Hey, you win some & you lose some.
Overall, Surin of Thailand is a great restaurant with decently priced food. Ranging from soups & salads, chicken/shrimp curries, noodle/ rice stir fry, to catfish, lamb, and seafood, there is sure to be something appealing to every member of your party. It's a quiet, romantic atmosphere, perfect for dates etc. & small parties, but not recommended for big/loud parties. I mean, you can, but shouldn't have your tailgate or bachelor's party here. lol.
Go check out this great restaurant soon!
Love you guys,
Akanke

ANTHONY'S PIZZA & PASTA
The first restaurant I have decided to write about is one of our favorites ever! Anthony's Pizza & Pasta is a mom & pop's joint on Highway 85 in Riverdale. There's one on East Ponce de Leon too but I've only been once & I like the Riverdale one better. Furnished with pool tables, air hockey, arcade games & 2 tvs, there's something fun for everyone to see or do. The interior is green & tan with fenced looking wood on the wall, and tan/wooden arts & decorations to match. You can sit in regular tables, wooden booths, or our favorite round table. It's across the room as you walk in the door, but has some steps up and is elevated from the rest of the restaurant. Like a VIP section, if you will, for you club hopping people.
And how's the food you ask? It's GREAT! Very affordable & delicious! Let's face it, nowadays it's very hard to find food that's cheap but tastes good at the same time. You usually get what you pay for, but not in this case. I'd spend my money here than at any fast food restaurant any day. Here's a mini manifest of the menu & prices for the budget minded masses:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Appetizers: all under $4
Salads: $4- small/ $7- large
Subs: $3.50- 7"/ $6.50- 14"
Wings: $6.25- 12pc/ $11.50- 25pc/ $19.95- 50pc
Pizzas: small $3.95, toppings $1 / large $6.50, toppings $1.50
Calzones: $5.50
Pasta entrees: $4.75- $8.25
Kids menu: all under $4.50
Desserts: Cookies/ Brownies- .65c
Cheesecake- $2.95
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As you can see, the menu has a variety of food for every taste bud: pizza, wings, pasta, subs, salads, fries, brownies, cookies, cheesecake... etc. Their pepperoni pizza is great & we also get the chicken alfredo pizza. It has perfectly seasoned chicken, mushrooms, alfredo sauce & cheese. Best ever! The Medium & Italian flavored wings are great too!
Other tasty dishes are the pastas, chicken strip subs, spaghetti & meatballs, and jalapeno poppers (fried jalapeno peppers with cream cheese in the middle) with ranch dipping sauce. I usually bring some steamed Old Bay crab legs & eat them with the poppers. Add some sweet tea & you got one of my favorites meals ever.
So if you're ever in the Atl area or if you live in Atl, ever in Riverdale, stop by there & Gina or Becca will take good care of you. They're like our extended family cuz we eat there so much. lol. We've had numerous birthday parties & gatherings there & everyone loves that place. Go check it out! Oh yea, they do deliveries for surrounding areas too. No, you can't call in an order from California, they don't go that far...
P.S. - If you Google "Anthony's Pizza & Pasta" you'll probably get some website for a place in New York, which obviously isn't the right one, so here's their address so you can Mapquest it. Go forth hungry people! Bon Appetit!

HAVE FORK, WILL EAT
In addition to the Lights, Camera, Action! series that I am starting will be the restaurant series. As you all should know by now, I LOVE to eat. I'll try almost anything once. I've eaten cuisine from Italian, Soul Food, Chinese, to Seafood, Caribbean, etc etc. My favorites have to be pasta, bbq, and seafood. I'll eat those any day. And let's not talk about desert. I'll eat almost any desert put infront of me (that's after I eat the whole table full of appetizers & entrees. lol) I've also eaten exotic/ unique foods like snake, eel, deer, shark, snails, fish eyes, fish eggs, quail eggs, etc etc. Yea, I AM from another country people! My culture eats weird/gross sounding things but most of the time it tastes great if you stop being a punk & just eat it!
I love to cook. It excites me to learn how to cook something new. Over the years I've learned cooking tips from my parents, Actor's parents & even my friends & their parents. I can cook Asian food, Pasta, BBQ, bake cakes, brownies & deserts like banana pudding etc etc... and Soul Food (don't play, I make the best cornbread in Atl. Holla at me if you visit.) The best thing about cooking is watching people eat it. Might sound corny but I bust my butt (well hand technically) to cook great food because I want Actor & whoever else eating to enjoy theirselves. It makes me happy to feed people.
I told Actor that food is one of the most universal things in life that make people happy. I've noticed that nomatter who they are, where they came from, or what they're going through, when people eat, they're so content. Yea they're hungry & are filling a physical need to nourish their bodies, but beyond that... beyond that is a beautiful thing. People sit to talk, laugh & bond when they eat. Families gather for holidays to eat & catch up on each other. Couples eat to celebrate an anniversary or get to know each other on a first date. Even homeless people are happy when they eat; seems like for those few minutes they don't have a care, worry, or fear in the world.
So this series is for those who share the same love of food with me. Food is a beautiful (and delicious) art. Me & Actor love to try different places every chance that we get, so I'm gonna start recommending & sometimes shoo you away from a place. lol. Hey man, don't wanna waste your time eating bland food.
Check back soon for my 1st restaurant blog!
Love,
Akanke
