HAWKS, HATTON & KFC

Man it's been a crazy couple of weeks. I barely have time to blog anymore. Boo me. Shameless to say I've actually been on Twitter lately so most of my updates have been on there. Follow me @hanhnybun if you want.

Anyhoos, here's a quick recap of everything I've been meaning to write for the last couple:

~ Why do people go crazyyy when something is free? Last week KFC gave away a piece of grilled chicken & I heard that it was mad chaos. I'm glad I missed that. This week apparently Oprah is giving away a free 2 piece meal at KFC & apparently everybody & their mama is getting their chicken ON. I went to KFC today not knowing about the giveaway & was freaking trapped in the parking lot! UGH! I didn't even want it as soon as I saw the line of cars wrapped around the drive through & the parking lot. But I couldn't even get out! Cars were every which way in & out of the parking lot in every direction. It was freaking gridlocked! IN A PARKING LOT. WTF?!

And even the inside was wrapped around to outside. OUTSIDE. Mannnn. Whoever is PR/ Marketing for KFC should get a big ass raise. Got Oprah to join the grilled chicken train. Props to you!

~ After I finally got out of the parking lot, tell me why I went to Wendy's & asked for McNuggets?... FAILED

~ Tell me why a hispanic person (I don't know man or woman as I didn't see them) just got rushed out on a stretcher in the business next to ours? Which is a hispanic business might I add? And on a tangent, tell my why I read in the news a couple of days ago that there are 2 swine flu cases in Metro Atlanta now. One where I work & one where I live. How convenient. AND the case where I work the family refused treatment & wasn't quarantined but instead told to stay at home until they got better. WHAT?! I didn't know that that was an option! How can you deny treatment to something that you know you're sick with? That's just insanity to me, but who am I to judge right?

So excuse me if I'm all swine flu paranoid right now if someone in the same building as me has to be rushed out on a stretcher. I'm hoping it's not worst case scenario. *crosses fingers*

~ One of the coworkers that I actually liked quit Friday. And I just found out yesterday. I didn't even get to say bye! Moped... My last conversation with her was when I thought she was going out for an appointment. She said bye & I said "Where are you going?" as in "Which appt. are you going to?" and she said "I don't know" & hugged me & that was it.

Looking back now I see how she would've thought that I knew. Boo. How come the people that I don't like are still here? haha.

~ I'm trying to tone up for the beach. Me & Actor are going with my sister & her fam. It'll be the 1st time that my sis & Actor meet so I'm excited about that. And I REFUSE to wear a bikini if I'm not toned by then.

~ We watched the unrated version of Hitman last night. It was popping as hell. Dunno why people gave it bad reviews. Maybe cuz they showed the rated version at the theaters. But if you've already seen it watch it again with the unrated version. It was realllly good.

~ I bought 180 VHS tapes for $30. haha. Don't ask. I had to buy a VCR to even watch them. But it's been so fun catching up on old movies that I've never seen before. I.E. Matrix. Dances With Wolves. Conspiracy Theory, etc. Yes I've never seen the Matrix till this yr. Don't judge me! I went to see Matrix 2 when it came out but fell asleep cuz my date was boring.

~ Did anyone see the Pacquiao/ Hatton fight? MANNNNNNNNN. I already knew Hatton was going down but I don't think ANYBODY thought it was gonna be that quick. Lol! As soon as Pacquiao knocked him down the 1st time in the 1st round I knew it was over. I KNEW Hatton was going down in the 2nd round. DEFINITELY. Should've betted but I forgot to.

~ And Pacquiao vs. Mayweather? I'm sorry but I've got my money on Mayweather. I love both of them & they're both quick & strong but I think Mayweather is stronger. Now if only he would stop talking so much shit... But that's gonna be a GREAT fight. And I will be watching :-)

~ We watched game 7 of the Hawks vs. Heat & was so happy that the Hawks won. Mannn we were so crunk on a Sunday. lol! I feel so bad for them though cuz there's probably no way that they're going through King James. I missed the 1st game but hope they win at least one game with the Cavs.

~ We went to eat Pho (Vietnamese cuisine) after the game. It was delicious! I actually got Pho instead of the Vermicelli dish that I usually get. Yummm

WHEN THINGS BREAK

Man it's been a messed up week! My camera (which I've only had since Christmas) broke. I turned it on & the screen was completely white. Like, I can still see the images on the screen but it was covered by a white coat. I tried troubleshooting everything to no avail :-(

Then my freaking "check engine" light came on in my car. Actor checked under the hood & turns out the motor mount (which I just got replaced in August) was defective, rotten, fell apart & pieces got stuck at the bottom of the engine. He had to get a hanger to pry it up.

Now if you know me I hate when things break, especially if I didn't even cause it. But, being the problem solver that I am put a resolution into action instead of complaining & being sorry about it. Well, I did complain a little, but that's besides the point. haha.

So I found my receipts (I keep all of my documents & even copies) for the camera & service & turns out I still had warranty on both things. Whoo hoo! Sent the camera back Monday & they're done fixing it & are shipping it back to me as we speak. Kodak has the best customer service & turnaround time. Props to them!

The "check engine" light went off so we think it was just a slight momentarily malfunction. Cuz the motor mount has nothing to do with the emissions system, which is usually what is wrong when your check engine light comes on. Like your catalytic converter or thermostat or something. Hey, don't look at me like I'm crazy. I know way more about cars than you think. hehe. I used to stand in the shop with my dad & watched as the mechanics fixed our cars. I like to know how to do things.

Actor & I took the car to the shop yesterday & they bought the part & replaced it within an hour of me getting there. Love them too. They be hooking me up! They're my dad's mechanics. My dad got connections man. We're always joking about how we think he's in the mafia cuz anytime he needs anything done he gets it. Like, with a snap. When their house got broken into the lowlives kicked the door out of the frame & completely destroyed it. My dad got home, looked at it, made a phone call & a friend of a friend came straight from work to fix the door. Within like an hour. Put it all back together free of charge. Just like that. AND he went & bought a replacement door & put that on for him a few days later too.

We were telling Q about the service last night & I was like "Man I wish I had my dad's connections. That thing is great!" Actor said "You do! Through him. Man, you're like the Mafia boss' daughter & I'm the guy from the streets that they took in as family or something." I said "Nah, I'm the boss' daughter & you're the hot gardener that's banging my mom." haha. "Eww, gross. Why can't I be a simple regular civilian that's involved with the boss' daughter." "Cuz... you're supposed to be the hot plumber or milk man man."

I dunno. We're slow. Don't judge us. haha

UNDERDOGS COULDN'T QUITE GET IT

Friday night was an uneventful night. My girls called & tried to convince me to go to the club with them to no avail. Note to friends: I hate clubs. And I don't go anywhere on Friday night unless I'm already out & about. If I've already gone home then I'm probably in for the night. There's exceptions when I'm given a heads up about an event or something but if I'm not informed until the last minute then I probably won't go. Nothing personal but I've worked hard all week & just wanna go home, relax & catch up on my shows & movies.

Saturday was fun. We got up at 12:30pm to catch the cable company (before they closed at 1pm) to switch our box for an HD box. (I haven't watched the tv since we're had it. Busy weekend...) We came home, hooked up the box & went back to sleep. haha. Woke up at about 6pm & got dressed for our friend Chocolate Chip's birthday party at a far far awayyyyy bar.

Went to Subway on our way there (we don't like to eat at bars or parties unless we know the host very well.) Boy am I glad we did. The bar was so freaking packed! Everyone & their mama was there to see Georges St. Pierre & BJ Penn fight for UFC night. Our party was big so half of us didn't even have a table at 1st. We had to wait for people to leave to get one. Then they didn't have any menus. Or glasses. lol. It was cool though. Actor got some Grand Marnier & I got a Malibu & Cran & we were straight for the night.

I love watching UFC & it was definitely popping. There were a few notables in my book: Jon Jones kicked ass with his elbow. lol. He's an upcoming beast. And the knock out of the night? Whew! Lyoto Machida should not be effed with! Knock out 1st round. Holla at him. And it was crazy cuz he's a little older & didn't look as fit as Thiago Silva but he knocked his ass out! I was waiting for it too. Whew!

And boy was the main event of the night disappointing... I thought it was gonna be a way better (and equal) fight but GSP whooped Penn's ass man. I was neutral but then started rooting for Penn cuz he was the underdog. And he just couldn't deliver or recover. He was NOT as in shape as he should've been. You're going against GSP you BETTER be in the best shape of your LIFE buddy. But he wasn't & GSP slammed him to the ground every single round & beat the shat out of him. But I gotta give Penn props cuz at least he went for 4 rounds without getting knocked out. He sure as hell has a granite chin. lol. Any other person would've been knocked out by the end of round 1.

Sunday we didn't get out of bed till like 5pm. lol. We were up but just lounging around talking & watching tv in bed. Headed to Slim's house for his youngest son's birthday party & to watch the Superbowl. All in all it was a decent game. The only fun parts were when James Harrison ran the 100 yd. interception return for the touchdown. I was going for Cardinals (underdog) but we all screamed. It was crazyyyyy. And at the end when Cardinals got that touch down. lol. But there was too much time on the clock & the Steelers definitely deserved the win so... I didn't really care either way.

We didn't really watch the commercials or the half time show; it started getting boring in the middle. Instead we turned on YouTube & was cracking up at Chris Rock's "Kill the Messenger" stand up. haha. He's a fool! I heard that everyone was disappointed that Bruce Springsteen didn't do "Born in the USA" though.

Oh yea, we missed Jennifer Hudson singing the anthem but I heard it on the radio this morning & it was great. One of the best ever done. My coworker said that he was almost in tears when she finished. And I've never seen him cry. lol

All in all this weekend in sports was kinda disappointing for me. Both the underdogs I went for lost. I guess that's why they're the underdogs. Well, keep at it & go harder next time guys. Whoo!

THE GOOD BAD & UGLY

THE GOOD

~ I'm starting a home-made greeting card company. Very very very VERY excited about it. Getting all of my paperwork & samples ready right now. Trying to build my own website but if not I might hire someone to do it for me. Trying to do flash & also interactive/ build your own card kinda thing. If anyone knows anyone that is capable let me know :-)

~ Brando's getting bigger. He's almost outgrown his crate. Gotta buy him a new one soon. Everyone thinks he's huge cuz he's umm, bout 70 lbs, but he's still my tiny little ball of germs.

~ I've been working out & eating healthier with Actor. It's actually not as bad as I thought. I enjoy taking care of myself. lol

~ Saw Pineapple Express last night. It was pretty good. Funny funny.

~ Actor & his friend played the Resident Evil demo & loved it. And they're playing it over & over. lol

~ I bought the "sandalwood" candles from Target & they are officially my new scent. It smells so freaking good! Hmmmmm. And I bought the oil burner thingy & it works wonders. I mean, we had it in the living room & it made the whole ENTIRE house smell good. I'm so serious. The hallways, the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms. EVERYTHING. My clothes that I'm wearing to work today still smells like it. That's how strong it is. lol. Get some burners, they work wonders!

THE BAD

~ I'm not getting as big of a refund check as I thought I was gonna get. Ugh! Stupid taxes!

~ I have GOT to get more sleep. That's part of the whole healthy thing but I can't seem to grasp it yet. I mean, I go to sleep way earlier than Actor & Q does but somehow I still manage to get only 4-5 hours a night. Not good at all.

~ Speaking of, I almost fell asleep at the wheel trying to drive home from work yesterday. Was NOT a good look. I was literally prying my eyes open. Came home & fell out till 9 something.

THE UGLY

~ Remember the 3 traffic tickets I got a couple of months ago? Don't even ask me how much they are cuz I might slap somebody's mama. Let's just say it's not in the hundreds anymore. *steams*

ROBBERS & A HIGH SPEED CHASE... Sounds like a Jason Statham movie.

So tell me why my parent's house got broken into? This is their 2nd break in since we've been to the states. The 1st time was when I was in elementary school.

It was a day right before my birthday last week. I was at work & my mom called & told me that she just got home & the house was in disarray. I was just about to head out of the door to go get my driver's license renewed but had to cancel & head down there.

I'm doing about 80-90 mph down the highway in a-few-minutes-before rush hour traffic & I see a cop with his lights on coming up behind me. Before I could mutter an "Oh shit!" a motorcycle flies right pass me & the cop's tailing him. My horrified "Oh shit" turned into an intrigued one as I see the motorcycle weaving in and out of lanes & basically dusting the cop. Mind you I'm in the lane right next to the HOV & the chase is going on in the HOV lane & the side ramp. The cop, seeing that he's being left behind, starts gunning his car till smoke comes out of the back & he had to have slammed some part of his car into the left wall cuz all of this debris started flying at my car. Now my window was down cuz it was warm that day.

So here I am, adrenaline already pumping to the max cuz I'm trying to hurry up & get to my parents house so I could translate for the police report & a high speed chase is going on right next to me. My heart almost flew out of my chest when I saw all of that smoke & debris coming at my car cuz I figured it would fly in my window & hit me. I braced myself but nothing happened. I dunno how but miraculously nothing hit me. I checked my car when I got to their place & it didn't have any damages on it either. Whew! God loves me :-D

Anyhoos, so the motorcycle is allllllll the way down the highway by now while the cop is still trying to merge over to the other lanes & catch up with him. And (if you know me & my crazy self) you know I was trying to follow them too. haha. Blame my intrigued news reporter at heart & action loving soul. So I'm speeding up so I can see the chase & they quickly went out of sight cuz I couldn't freaking go anywhere. By the time I got a couple of exits down I spotted the motorcycle on the exit ramp but no guy. I looked but I didn't see him anywhere. The ramp was one of those circular ones so I concluded that the motorcyclist either a) was going too fast for the turn & crashed b) stopped & ran on foot or c) was in the back of the cop's car. Judging by the sorryness of the cop it was either a or b.

Best of luck to you motorcycle guy. You were getting it for a minute.

Anyways, so I get to my parent's house & the entire place is mildly uprooted. Someone had apparently kicked the door down. The frame was completely broken & on the floor. They tossed & flipped everything everywhere. They flipped the mattresses, opened all of the cabinets & drawers, tore my dad's desk apart looking for stuff. Papers & random junk scattered all over the place.

And guess what? They didn't take anything but her jewelry & some money. Basically a kid or substance abuser who just needed cash or something small & quick that they can sell. *sigh of relief*

Well, not relief cuz I'm still pissed that someone robbed them, but at least they still got all of their stuff. I was afraid that I was gonna come to a completely empty house. I would've been devastated. So we filed the report & everything & my dad got someone to come fix the door. I swear my dad's got connections. lol. He's like the Vietnamese Godfather or something. "Someday, and that day may never come, I'll call upon you to do a service for me..." lol. I mean, anytime he needs anything done he just makes a call & someone's there immediately to get whatever he has to get done. Whether it be to fix the car, fridge or whatever. It's crazy.
My parents are fine by the way; they weren't home when it happened. My mom didn't show it but I know that she's sad that about her jewelry. She had her wedding ring & bracelet on with her so that's the only thing she's got left. They took everything else. I'm gonna buy her some new jewelry soon.

I stayed with them for a while to translate & get everything situated & left. Oh, and I hadn't had anything to eat that day either. By the time I left their place it was maybe 7pm & I was running out of fuel. lol. I got home & made myself some spaghetti.

Hmm... Spaghetti to end a long, exhausting, action-packed day.

Oh yea, by the way, criminals piss me off. If you're gonna rob somebody then rob the bank or something. Somebody big that has an adundant amount that they can afford to lose. Don't rob an older couple just because they're an easy target. You freaking punks! They don't have anything in their house but medicine, asian foods & random things that they've collected over the years & refuse to throw away anyway. Duhhh! Go get a job at a big corporation & wire 8 billion dollars to an offshore account or something. My God! If you're gonna do something then go for the gusto. Be the best at it. Stop with all of these small time crimes. Normal people are already struggling as it is. They don't need you making it worse.

Oh, and I don't condone or endorse bank robberies or crimes of any sort. Don't quote me on that. I'm not saying, I'm just saying... lol

*insert 800 curse words here that I wanted to write for this whole blog but refrained from doing*

STEVE THE GRASS MAN

We haven't bought a lawn mower so we rent one & cut the grass whenever we get a chance. Needless to say, with our busy schedules the grass gets prettyyy high before we'll tend to it lol. So ever since we've moved in we've had numerous people come by & tape business cards for lawn care service on our door, mailbox & whathaveyou. Some have even come by the house & rang the doorbell & spoke with us. Ahhhh, but there's always that one persistent one isn't there?

I shall call him Steve because if you know who I'm talking about it would make sense... But anyhoos, Steve is quite a character. He's middle aged, drives an olddddd beat down country blue truck, wears farmer/old school clothing, never looks groomed & always look like he's under the influence. Of alcohol or drugs or both? Your guess is as good as mine. *shrugs*

The first time he came by the house was when I was home by myself. Needless to say I did not open the door. Why? Refer to the paragraph above & the fact that I was new to the neighborhood, home by myself & is a safe & cautious person. Yea... So he rang the door & knocked twice or so & left.

The second time he came by was when me & Q-Ball were home. I told Q-Ball to open the door & after a minute or so of mumbled incoherent conversation Q closed the door & said that he wanted to cut our grass. I said "Tell him we're good. We cut our own grass" and so that was that.

The third time he came by was when all of us were home & Actor's dad was visiting. Actor's dad engaged him in conversation even though we told him we were good. I guess older people just tend to gel together easier or something, I dunno... But during their convo Steve done walked all around our front yard & also tried to look at the side to see what all he could cut. We were a little irritated because we really didn't want him on our property in the 1st place let alone scope it out. He even tried to go around & look at the backyard & Actor's dad was like "You might not want to do that buddy" (Brando you have my permission to attack! lol)
But anyway, Steve is a horrible horrible business man I tell you that much. Not only does he not look the part, he doesn't sound or act it either. Actor's dad asked him for his name & it took about 3 times before we could understand what he was even saying. And he talks really fast & incoherent. I don't trust fast talking people as a general rule of thumb. Not all as there are exceptions but most people.

So Steve said that he'd cut our entire yard for $25 (which is really good because we have a huge yard & others have quoted $50- $80) because Actor's dad is still talking to him & asking questions. By this time we're both irritated & want Steve off of our property so Actor said "Hey my man, thanks for coming by. We're good on the grass but give us your card & we'll call you if we need you." And did Steve have a card? Pleaseeee. That, boys & girls, was a rhetorical question. Steve did however, have someone else's card though & wrote something on the back. Maybe his name or #. Who knows, I can't remember if Actor or his dad took it but it sure isn't on our fridge now. He then procedes to tell us where he lives (down the street, take a left here & a right there to be generally exact) so I deducted that he didn't have a number that we could reach him at. Basically "If you need me just go to *insert vague incoherent directions here* and I'll be there."

We nodded nicely & sent him on his way.

He came back a week or so later of course.

And again.

And again.

We kept telling him that we're good & finally told him that we don't have any money to pay him so maybe he'd leave us alone if we can't pay him. And did he back off? No. He was like "Oh, well, when are you gonna have some money?" "In a couple of weeks." "Oh ok, I'll just come back."

It's like damnnnnnn. He's like a roach that you can't get rid off. You know those roaches that you spray & spray because they're out of "stomping" reach but they never die & seem to get faster? Yea. Those kinds.

So tell me why we came home one night & our grass was cut? I didn't know how to feel. I mean, I gotta give him his props cuz he did a great job but...

WE DIDN'T ASK HIM TO!!!!

I mean damnnnnnn. Ughhh!!!! The first thing that came to my mind was "Now he's gonna keep coming to our house cuz he feels like we owe him money." Motherfucker.

And came by he sure did. He came by one night (why are you coming to my house at night anyway? I. Don't. Know. You) and Actor just paid him $30 instead of $25 to be nice. I wouldn't have paid him. It's like, hey I wasn't here, you shouldn't have been on my property in the 1st place. Secondly how do I know that you cut it? It could've been any of the other people that left us a card and now you're taking credit. So not only were you trespassing but you don't have any proof of your service. So... too bad.

I told Actor to tell him to not ever come by the house again unless we ask him to. And to definitely not cut our grass unless we ask him to. I am NOT cool with that. Don't be coming by my house asking for money for something I didn't ask you to do.

Don't be coming by my house asking for money for something I didn't ask you to do.

Through this whole experience Actor has been way more patient & calm with him than I have. He talked & dealt with him the entire time really. Yours truly does not have time for crappy business people. For sorry people in general. I have way more patience & am nicer to you if I see potential or if you're sincere. But if you don't have your stuff together then I am not messing with you. Whether it's business or personal. Point blank pur-red.

I have to say though, in the end Steve did get the job done. He might not be or know alot of things or but he sure as hell can cut some grass. And he is the most persistent person I've ever encountered. He should be a bill collector. But yea, I feel a little bad for being so harshly judgmental of him based on, well, everything. But hey, didn't you read DRESSED TO IMPRESS? It's human nature to judge the people you associate with because the lack of it can not only get you in a bad business transaction but a heap load of trouble.

"Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement."

GRANDMA GLOCK

Tue Aug 19, 11:25 PM ET

POINT MARION, Pa. - An 85-year-old woman boldly went for her gun and busted a would-be burglar inside her home, then forced him to call police while she kept him in her sights, police said. "I just walked right on past him to the bedroom and got my gun," Leda Smith said.
Smith heard someone break into her home Sunday afternoon and grabbed the .22-caliber revolver she had been keeping by her bed since a neighbor's home was burglarized a few weeks ago.

"I said 'What are you doing in my house?' He just kept saying he didn't do it," Smith said.

After the 17-year-old boy called 911, Smith kept holding the gun on him until state police arrived at her home in Springhill Township, about 45 miles south of Pittsburgh.

The boy will be charged with attempted burglary and related offenses in juvenile court, Trooper Christian Lieberum said. He was not identified because of his age.

"It was exciting," Smith said. "I just hope I broke up the (burglary) ring because they have been hitting a lot of places around here."

~~

Whoo! Go Grandma!!! Now THAT is some news! lol! She's so nice. If someone were to break in my house they'd get more than a call to the cops I tell you that much. Don't you get 3 "warning" shots? ...

RANDOM THINGS & HAPS

~ R.I.P to Bernie Mac & Isaac Hayes. They'll be missed greatly. I don't know much about Hayes but I know that he was a legend. Can you believe I've never seen Shaft? Yea, so I never heard the song that he did for that movie... I do know of & love Bernie Mac though. It's weird because I was just watching the Bernie Mac show right before I heard that he passed. And I loved him in the Oceans series, "Guess Who?" & of course his stand up. I wish them & their family the best. I'm sure they are in a better place. As Don Cheadle said, "Heaven just got funnier."

~ Actor mentioned a good point: that English is a very difficult language to learn. It's so detailed & complexed, as I'm sure all other languages are, maybe. The same spelled words can mean numerous meanings, past tense is "had" for singular & "have" for plural. You have to put the right punctuation marks! in the right. places or when, people read it? they won;t understand what. you're trying to say,... See what I mean? I don't even know how I learned this language in the 1st place. Geesh.

~ Brando needs a bath. Badly. I don't know what kind of mischief he's getting into while we're not watching but he'll come up to me with his whole face covered with dirt & act like I don't see it. And he's been getting a whole bunch of cuts on his legs. I don't know if he's playing too hard or digging a hole somewhere that we don't see or what. Just need to clean him.

~ I haven't seen any of the Olympics since it began. Boo me. I love the Olympics.

~ We just saw the first 8 episodes of the 1st season of Scrubs. So funny! lol. I've seen bits & pieces before, but since we really sat down & watched it it's gotten higher on my "funny" list.

~ I need a vacation. Badly. We're still trying to figure out where to go next month for our Anniversary & Actor's birthday. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to tell how old he's gonna be. *cough* quarter of a century *cough*

~ I shall post a list on the sidebar of the blogs that are good reads. Most of them are either my friends or a fellow blogger that I stumbled across that's really good. Show them some love!

~ I can't wait till next year comes around so I can do my taxes. lol. Totally random but I did mine & Actor's taxes this year & it was fun. Don't judge me!

~ I got back in touch with one of my good friends from high school a week or so ago. I shall call her Story. We haven't seen each other since she graduated a year before I did. It's been over 4 years. She found me on Myspace & we've been catching up ever since. We met up at a bowling alley last weekend & did some more catching up. That's one of my favorite & few people from high school that I actually want to keep in touch & hang out with. She's the best :-) Me, her & our friend Sean used to sit in Physics class & do nothing but sing all period long. hahaha. We drove the teacher crazyyyy but he loved us. lol.

~ By the way, if you haven't heard about the Grayhound story from Canada then Google it. Very disturbing yet need to know news so people can be more cautious.

That is all for now. I'm hungry. We shall meet again soon. Toodles!

TELL ME WHY

There are things in life that makes sense, a few random examples would be: children going to school, eating if you're hungry & bathing if you're dirty. So someone please tell me why there are just as many things that don't make sense? From what people do to the things they say or just how things work period. That is why from now on I'm going to put things that I just don't get under this label. And if you feel the need to explain or answer my mostly rhetorical & sarcastic questions then feel free. Otherwise, join me in asking these idiots what they are thinking or doing? Ugh!!!

Tell me why:

~ Do people that try to help always make the situation worse? If I asked you for help then that's a different story. But if I didn't solicit it then please don't do anything. You're more than 99% likely to screw things up & make the situation worse than it was. So, float away from me ok? Just float away.

~ Are the Heroes season 2 dvds not coming out till 8/26? We've been waiting foreverrrr & still have to. Arghh. We missed the 1st few episodes so didn't watch any of them because we wanted to see it from the beginning. So... hurry up!

~ I love Caesar salad so much even though it's probably the most fattening salad? :-(

~ My total bill for car repair and maintenance was $910? Long story. Will blog about it later.

~ It's miserable when it rains at our house? Branches fall off, leaves are everywhere & our electricity is weaker than a fat man being bribed with a steak.

~ My dog whines excessively & unnecessarily? He's so spoiled. When it rains or gets too hot outside I take him inside & put him in the crate in the den. I eventually had to move it to the open area next to the living room so he could see us & feel involved but he still whines. He stops after a while but the 1st few minutes are soooo annoying. I can't let him run about because he'll scratch the hardwood floors & jump on the furniture with his dirty self. And he'll whine when I leave the room to Actor or Q & Meatball. He'll stop after a while & start whining when I come back like "Hey you left me! and I forgot, but now you're back! Don't leave again!" And he has different whines & gets louder if we ignore him. He rolls his tongue too. lol. It's cute but annoying at the same time.

~ I have to pay $25 for my doctor to give me my medical records? And for them to fax them to my new doctor? That's some bull! Why do I have to pay you to see my own damn information?! And yesterday I asked them to fill out this form for my insurance company & they said that they would mail me the paper within 7-10 days and it'll be $15 bucks! Please! I'm standing here right now. All you have to do is check the damn boxes & sign. Takes about 15 seconds max. So why the hell do I have to wait a week AND pay $15. Most stupid thing I've ever heard in my life! Stop trying to make money any way you can. I understand if it might be time consuming if everyone asked you for records. But everyone isn't. And most of the time the staff aren't doing anything but sitting there eating & gossipping anyway. So I don't wanna hear it! DO YOUR JOB PEOPLE!

That is all for the moment.

POPPING UPDATE

July 6th
6am

Went to sleep after drawing the Victorian design that's on our comforter. Felt like drawing at the moment... Popped everything inbetween sleep. Hey, I went all the way from 4pm to 6am without popping anything so I deserved it. And it felt damn good too.

July 7th
Popped everything when I woke up at 6am. Popped my hands & toes at 1:10pm. Not too bad but think I'm digressing...

July 15th
It's been 10 days since I've started the challenge & I've been doing pretty well if I don't say so myself. The first day or two I couldn't think of anything but how uncomfortable my joints were cuz I wasn't popping them. I literally was walking around squeezing all 3 of their arms cuz I couldn't pop my joints. Cuz they were the one that made me go on the challenge in the 1st place. I was squeezing the hell out of their arms. lol. It helped a little bit. And then Meatball had the nerve to ask me if I could walk on his back! Are you freaking kidding me?! I told him "If I don't get to pop my bones, then your big ass sure as hell ain't getting yours popped. *insert Rihanna's "Please" here* But yea, the nerve of that guy! Ughhh!!!

That was last week, but as of late I'm not even thinking about the uncomfortness (I don't think that's a word but... it is now!) I probably pop my joints 5-10 times a day now; still alot but a big difference from 38-60. Only do it when I just can't take it anymore. I wanna get to the point where I only pop them once a day or, even better, once every few days. I'll keep resisting until I break this habit. I'm definitely glad that it's working...

IT'S ON & NOT POPPING

*Written July 5th*

Hi everyone. My name is Hanh. And I'm a popper.

I pop almost every single bone in my body: my neck, back, hands & toes. I used to pop my ankle every time before I walk too but somehow I stopped. It's horrible because it's such a habit to the point that I feel so uncomfortable if I don't pop them. And when I do I pop my whole entire body according to the list above. I do it at least 2-3 times an hour & since I get up at 6am on most days & go to sleep around 1 or 2am, I average 38-60 pops a day. Yea. That's 38-60 too many... And I have to pop my bones as soon as I get up in the morning & before I go to bed. If not then I can't sleep comfortably. It's a horrible horrible habit because my bones are gonna be all messed up when I get older.

So me, Actor & his little brothers were discussing & they challenged me to not pop my bones for as long as I can. Of course I took it; I love challenges. So I'm basically in agony right now cuz I wanna pop everything right at this very moment. As I'm typing this I want to pop my hands on the keypad. Ughhhh. But! I'm not gonna!

We'll see how long this lasts & if I stick to it if it'll stop me from popping permanently.

So here goes:

Day 1

5:16pm
Challenge started at 4pm. I've gone for 1 hour & 16 min. without popping anything. I haven't gone this long for I dunno howww long. Lord help me.

5:31pm
My left hand is aching/ so uncomfortable right now. Haven't popped it though. Mind over body. Wheu!!!

Me & Q ball just had a pillow holding contest to see who could balance a couch pillow with their foot the longest. We were lying on the couch on our backs with our legs raised in the air & a pillow on our foot. Him & Meatball decided to add another pillow on my foot. Follow by a box of matches, a cell phone & an xbox 360 wireless controller. And I held all of it steady too. Went for a while before my calves started burning & I STILL held it for a couple minutes more before I put it down. Whoo!!!

Ahh, the random things we do on a Saturday...

DAY 2

Ok, so this technically isn't the next blog, but it IS the next blog about my miserable streak of bad days.

*Day 2*
Thursday. May 29, 2008

Went to work, had the whole deal with management about my Pearl and went home.

Stopped by Quizno's to get a Blackened Angus sub *drools*

Got home, put in Alpha Dog to re-watch & got cozy on my futon.

*doorbell rings*

It was my next door neighbor. Well, their son. He's like 11 or 12. He said that his mom said that I could use their trash bin to put our trash in until we get ours. (Cuz the stupid trash company took forever and a day to deliver ours. Just got it last week by the way & we've been there over a month.)

I said "It's ok. We just put it outside & they still get it. They're gonna deliver our bin soon."

"Oh ok. Well just letting you know that you can use our bin if you want to" and just stood there. I mean, I've never seen anyone that concerned about my trash, in life. Since he didn't move I caved. I wanted to go ahead & get it over with so I could get back to my dinner/movie.

By the way, we just had a BBQ at our house the previous weekend so had bags & bags of trash outside. And we forgot to put the trash out on Monday so it didn't get picked up. We had it on the other side of the fence of our backyard, and somehow Brando got to a couple of bags & ripped them all open. Yea... trash scattered all over the yard. I guess that's why our neighbors offered cuz they probably thought "Ughh. Let me help you clean up this mess!" lol.

So I went inside, grabbed a couple of trash bags & went out the back door to start picking up the massacre. The little boy & his mom helped me pick up everything on the outside of the fence. Told them I'd clean up the inside later (didn't want Brando to pounce all over them.)

As we finished up I thanked them & head back to the back door. Which is locked!

Hence, I'm locked out of my house. *insert scream here* This is the second time I've locked myself out at this house by the way. The 1st time was the day of the BBQ & Actor had to give me a lift up so I could climb into our window. Yea... don't ask. lol. It was pretty fun though; I like climbing stuff.

But back to the matter at hand here. So I'm locked out. Again. The same way like the 1st time. How you ask? Because the bottom knob to the door is retarded that's why. You know how when you turn the lock vertically it's locked & horizontally is unlocked? Mine is the opposite. Ergo, horizontal is locked. Yea... And I apparently can't remember that yet.

So here I am, standing outside in my PJs, in a neighborhood where I don't know anyone (except for my new friends,) Actor's out of town, I don't have a phone cuz I lost it yesterday, ergo don't know my landlord's number so I can call her to come open the door for me.

I asked my neighbors to let me use their phone, called Actor, and he didn't have her # either. He tries to google her to no avail. He says he'd call me back once he finds the number cuz we didn't wanna waste my neighbor's minutes. So I call my other friend K to help hunt her # down too. 2 heads are better (and faster) than one... But somehow they can't find anything on her. I finally remembered that I have an email from my landlord with a leasing agreement attachment, which should have her contact # right? So she hunted for that, found it, but couldn't open it cuz the laptop she was using didn't have Adobe Reader. Back to square one.

An hour later, between 80 calls to and from using numerous resources, we finally got an office #. By this time it had to be like 7:30 or 8pm. I figured she wouldn't be there but she picked up. YESSS!!! She works across town from where I live so said she could get there in an hour, hour and a half, so... I just waited. Sat outside on a horsy toy thingy that one of the kids had and waited... in my pjs... in a new neighborhood... where I don't know anyone but my newly introduced neighbors...

Their family was really nice. They offered me to come into their house to wait for my landlord but I didn't go in since I didn't know them so I sat outside for a while. But it started getting chilly since I was in my pjs so I gave & went in. The mom gave me a diet Mountain Dew & some crackers (which I didn't take.) The diet Mountain Dew wasn't as bad as I thought it was gonna be (I don't drink diet stuff.) I sat for a couple of minutes & then realized that my landlord's coming by & the backyard is filled with scattered trash, which is NOT a good look, so I excused myself to go clean up the mess.

Brando kept bothering me while I leaned down to pick up the trash. He has this habit of coming over to lick my back when I'm leaned or sitting down on the ground. Yea, he's an asshole. After about 10 "Sit down Brandos!" & "Go over there & play so I can clean up the mess that you made Brandos!" I got irritated & put him in time out in our storage shed. Don't worry I opened the windows so he could have some ventilation & stuff. And some toys. He kept barking cuz he wanted to be out near me but I ignored him until I got the job done.

My landlord finally came & let me in. It was the 1st time that they saw Brando too. They had concerns because he was a pit mix but he was so well-behaved & friendly that they were ok with him. She said "What's up with the grass?" though. lol. We just moved from an apartment to a house so don't have a lawn mower yet so... We'll get it handled as soon as possible.

They came in the slightly messy house with me & we chatted for a while & then they left. The house wasn't extra junky, but there were scattered stuff in some places that I would've cleaned up if I knew we were gonna have company kinda messy.

I reheated my now overly cold sub & resumed my movie. Man... What a night what a night!
Wait till I tell you about my 3rd bad day... Tops everything.

(NEW) HOME SWEET HOME

*** This is my 100th post by the way. Whoo hoo! Can't believe I've spilled that much! lol. Thanks for taking precious time out of your day to read about my tiny little life. Here's to another 100... *cheers*

We're all moved in. But guess what? Not to the house mentioned in the previous Blog. Yea, I know. Long story. In a nutshell, we already signed the lease & started packing. The landlord was gonna clean the house last Monday before we moved in so we told our agent to ask the cleaning ppl to concentrate on the mold & mildew in the kitchen cabinets when they come.

I get a call on Tuesday saying that the cleaning ppl said that they couldn't get rid of the mold/ mildew & that it has to be professionally taken cared of & painted over to rid of it. She also said that she spoke to the owner and he didn't want to do it. And that he wanted to add a clause to the contract saying that any repairs under $100 we would have to fix ourselves. Basically showing that he doesn't wanna fix anything now or ever.

Our agent recommended that we shouldn't live there since he was doing bad business (and we completely agreed) so we broke the lease.

The next day we went househunting some more & found a gem. Our agent forwarded everything to the owner & the rest is history.

We moved in Friday. Boyyyyy, this has got to be the longest week of my life! We got the moving truck at 9am but weren't finished packing so were busy packing & cleaning for the better part of the day. By 6pm we had everything packed & loaded, the apartment cleaned & headed towards our new abode. We unloaded everything by 10pm & had to take the truck back down south so we just spent the night there.

Saturday we had a midnight BBQ with a couple of friends that helped us move. It was so fun! We bought the grill, some tiki torches & a whole bunch of food. It took us a minute to get started because the guys had to assemble the grill & I had to season all of the food. But it soon got underway & we grilled the night away. We spent the night at our friend's house so in effect, we hadn't slept in the new house except for a quick nap that morning.

Actor put our bed back together on Sunday so we finally slept in the new place for the 1st time after the Kanye concert. More on that next blog...

NO THANKS. WE'LL PASS

Updates of random happenings & events:

~ Brando's getting bigger. We went to the vet on Saturday & he's 17.6 lbs now. Chunky monkey!

~ Our friend had a bbq at the park for her birthday on Sunday. And how about we totally didn't consider the "park" part cuz everybody had their dog there & we left Brando at home. We felt really bad :-(

~ The party was soooo fun! We had meat on a stick, burgers, chips & dips & countless other edibles. Everyone shared 2 BB guns & shot at each other. lol. We're not violent ppl I swear! No seriously, it was a tiny tiny plastic bullet. Didn't hurt at all. We placed cups on the table as targets too. I (& Actor) found out that I had a great (almost perfect of course) shot *evil chuckle*

~ We're moving at the end of this month to live closer to our jobs. Ergoooo, we've been house hunting for like 3 months; to no avail might I add. We've got specifics in mind & nothing has proven worthy as of yet. So you know, I've been looking through Craigslist, AJC homefinder, etc. etc. Tell me why there are so many scammers on Craigslist? Oh my God! People are so desperate & crazy!!!!!

This one guy (that I didn't even email) emailed me with the subject of "Re: Interested in renting home" Ummm, I'm sorry? I didn't even email you you dumb ass! He then goes on to say that he lives in Switzerland (or some other country that I can't remember right now) & will mail me the keys to check out the house if I fill out this "application" & email it back to him. On the application? Your name, address, number, social security #... etc etc. I was like damnnnn, do you want a sample of my urine too? And my blood type while you're at it? Stupid idiots! Go scam some other sped. I wish I knew which ad he posted on there so I can flag it & tell the cops to trace it & arrest him. Ughh *disgusted*

And then my friend showed me an ad from Creative Loafing that sounded nice (on paper only of course.) 2 beds 1 bath, all utilities included, washer & dryer, cable; basically the works for $800/mth. I was very skeptical cuz you know, if it sounds too good to be true, then yea... But me being an optimist & also a hardhead went ahead & called them anyway.

*Ring ring Ring ring*

"Hello"
"Hello?" "Yes I saw your ad in CL & wanted to know if you still had that home available?"

(Thick country incoherent accent. Sounded like a late 50s, early 60s woman)
"What? Oh yea, it is. It's got *insert run down of stats here. For 3 minutes long might I add*
"Oh ok, that sounds good. Do you have any pictures that you can email me?"
"Pictures?! We don't take pictures honey"

*silence pause; me taking the cell phone from my ear & looking at it like huh? Did I hear that right?*

"Sooo... you don't have any pictures of it that I can see?"
"No, we don't take pictures around here"
"Oh ok............. Can you give me your address so we can mapquest it to see how far it is from where we are?"
"Well, you take so & so exit to so & so. Turn right at the Chevron, wait, is it an Exxon? I don't know, one of them gas stations. *insert her husband talking all country & loud in the background telling her the directions to tell me* Well here, talk to my husband. He'll tell ya.

*Insert phone passing here*
*Insert me not listening here*

"Hello! HELLO! Ok, so you take *insert the same incoherent rambling that she just told me here*

*Insert me trying so hard not to hang up on them here*

"Hello! Yea, can you just give me the address there? I'll find it."
"Welll, I just told you how to get here. You just *insert same incoherent directions here*

WAIT

STOP

WHY THE HELL AM I STILL ON THE PHONE?

You know why? Cuz I'm full of foolishness that's why. lol. It was amusing & entertaining to me. So I was like "Uh huh, uh huh..." *3 minutes later* "Well, that sounds too far out for us. Thanks for your time though."

"So when are you coming to look at it?"
"I'm not. It's too far. Thank you. Bye bye." *click*

That was Monday. Tell me why they've called back 4 times since then! Twice while I was at work, once last night AT 11PM!!! And just called & left a voicemail as I type. This very moment.

Last night they called from their cell phone (Oh my god they have a cell phone? *gasps*) and I was away from my phone. Bre was gonna answer it but it stop ringing so he called back. We didn't know who's number it was but as soon as I heard that country accent I died laughing and did the cut throat sign to Bre like "No! Uh uh"

He (being as full of crap as I am) persues the conversation. He lets her give him the run down of the stats again *insert a funny look from him here* then said "Well, it's kind of late, my girlfriend is asleep. But I'll let her know & tell her to call you tomorrow. K bye."

*Our eyes light up* (I always know when he has something funny to tell me. I get excited then both our eyes light up like "Guess what just happened?"

"So... what'd she say?"
"She said... the stats of the house of course, and that we can't drink alcohol or do illegal drugs because they're living in the basement & are in recovery so..."

*insert both of us dying of laughter, tears running down my face*

WAIT

WHAT?!

You want us to rent your house out with you living in the basement?!

And you're both going through recovery?

OH. MY. GOD!!!!

*dying as I type this*

Um... No thanks. We'll pass.

NEW BRANDO PIX!

Happy 2 months birthday to Brando! Yay! Here are some new pix that I took of him at the vet getting his 1st set of shots. The camera actually captured the blue in his eyes, which is so dope.

Oh and some pix of him sticking his head out the car window. He loves the wind but if we're going faster than 40 then he'll come back in. Hehe. Not big enough to handle strong wind yet...

WITH AGE COMES STRENGTH & WISDOM

Tomorrow will make it 3 weeks that we've had Brando. And oh how he's grown. He's so much bigger than when I first saw him; he's much stronger & smarter too. Within 3 weeks he:

1) Learned his name

2) Sits when told about 80% of the time

3) Jumps onto big rocks/boulders and from one to another with ease

4) Can go up & down steep hills without hesitation.

5) Used to be scared of going down the stairs & only goes up but now he runs up & down.

6) Is almost, almost potty trained. He sometimes goes to the door & scratch at it like "Hey I gotta go... let me out"

7) Freaking bit off pieces of the big rock in #3 and eats it. His teeth is way too sharp & jaws too strong man

8) Managed to chew open one of his toys (a rhino) so now he can't play with it cuz he gets fluff all over the carpet & sometimes eats it.

9) Can jump to catch a toy that you're dangling in the air

10) And when he gets it? haha. Good luck getting it back. He's got a super grip. I mean, he'll hold on to the toy with his teeth even if you pull the toy up. Ergo he's dangling in the air by his teeth & you can spin him around and he still won't let it go.

11) Eats like crazyyy. We'll feed & walk him & as soon as we come in the door he goes to the food bowl looking for more.

12) His bark is getting deeper. He used to whimper & whine with this high pitch & lately he's had a little bass in his voice. haha. That's my boy!

13) He loves to lie in my lap for naps. Sometimes Actor have to distract him to another side of the room if I have to do something cuz he'll keep pawing me to sit still so he can get in my lap & sleep. Like, I'm on the floor changing out his pads & he'll jump on my back or paw me so I'll turn around & as soon as I do he'll muscle his way onto my lap.

14) He loves to follow Actor around too. That's his boy! During our walks we like to run to let him chase us so he'll get some good exercise. But if Actor's just walking behind us & not running then he'll stop & look back like "What are you doing man? Come onnn." And same goes for when I'm not running; he'll stop & look back at me & then at Actor like "Hold on. She's not running."

We took him to the vet for his 1st set of shots yesterday. He did pretty well considering it was a strange place. Leave it to him to not sit still on the table trying to explore everything & almost fell off like 5 times. He fell onto my lap twice & Actor caught him another time. He stayed pretty still when they had to examine him & all... The diagnosis? He's completely healthy! Yay!

We're taking him over to Aunty's to see his parents & brothers tonight. A little family reunion if you will. I'm excited to see how the other pups have grown :-D

BUDDY BRANDO

As you can obviously tell, Brando's one of the most exciting things in our lives right now. hehe. I'm gonna write about him very often to update you on what he's doing & also as a personal diary so I can look back at this years later & remember how he grew & stuff & stuff. I'm very sentimental. So what? Don't judge me!!!

So we got him last Friday night (2/22/08) after Actor got off work. It was probably midnight but he was still up, well, VERY up & hyper I should say. We jokingly said that one of the kids gave him some crack or something cuz he was extra extra hyper. We hung out for a little while then I wrapped him in a soft blue blanket & we took him home. He squirmed for a little, slept for a little, and whined for a little. He did pretty good considering that was his 1st car ride. But as soon as we parked the car I felt his stomach shaking really bad. I thought he was gonna poop so I put the puppy pad on his butt but then it came out the other end. lol. He threw up a good bit on my arm.

As soon as we came in the house he peed & pooped like 10 times within 10 minutes. We were cleaning up repeatedly. Guess he was just marking his territory... We fed & gave him water, let him walk around & get aquainted to the place, showed him his bed & toys & just played with him all night. We didn't go to sleep till almost 5 in the morning.

We woke up at 7 to feed, walk & play with him some more. He was scared of the outside for a little while. We had to drag him across the hallway cause he kept resisting to walk. No not hard as in abusive, more like an encouraging nudge. Gotta show him love but discipline him at the same time. After a couple of walks he couldn't wait to go outside. He goes in & out of the house without hesitation now.

We're crate training him; he took to it immediately & even goes in it by himself to sleep. The 1st day or so he could stay in it for 3 or 4 hours & then starts wailinggggggg. After 4 hours he'd wail until we let him out. We ignored him the 1st time just to see how long he would wail. We figured that he'd get tired within 15 minutes & stop. Yea righttttt. He wailed for 3 hours straighttt. We had just taken him outside so he didn't have to go or anything. He just didn't wanna be in there.

After a couple of days we'd decided on another approach, you know, just testing to see what works best for him. So we moved his crate to the kitchen & left the door open but gated him in. That way he'd have room to roam around & occupy himself until we got home from work. Now mind you I taped puppy pads on the entire floor... When I got home that day... BOYYYYY. The entire house smelled like poop. I walked to the kitchen to see what was going on: he dug under most of the pads, peed & pooped EVERYWHERE. And if that wasn't enough he smeared his poop EVERYWHERE that he could reach: alllll over the floor, on the cabinet doors, bottom of the oven... yea.

I was overwhelmed. lol. I stood & stared at the mess for like a minute, like "How the hell do I approach this situation?" So I put him in the crate so I could clean up. It took me almost 45 minutes to clean, wipe & disinfect everything. Definitely an experience...

We decided that we were gonna give the whole "open ground" thing one more try before we put him back in his crate. So I taped the pads on the floor, this time with much more durable tape, and we hoped for the best. When we got home it was a little better as he didn't smear stuff everywhere but it was still too messy.

The next day we put him back in his crate & it's been getting better everyday. He barely whines anymore unless we just came home & he's so excited to see us that he keeps jumping up & down & barking to get out. He's getting trickier with his poop though; smart little runt! I had his bed on on side & the pad on the other & he pooped under his bed where there was no pad. Little rascal! Yesterday Actor told me that he threw his poop out of the cage. And last night we came home from the store & he had pee & poop outside of the cage. Apparently he stuck his booty out of the cage to do his business. lol. I'd be mad but it's too freaking adorable. Guess cuz he's still new. Cuz after a while I'm gonna be on that ass. Better play your cute card for as long as possible buddy.
