THE RIGHTEOUS DEATH BURN

Boys & girls, if you weren't aware, there are several great movies that are coming out & I am EXCITED to see them! They are:

DEATH RACE
Directed by: Paul W.S. Anderson

Starring:
Jason Statham (one of my favs)
Joan Allen (she's really good. From the Bourne series)
Tyrese (who gets better & better every movie)
Jacob Vargas ("no more locked doors!") hehe

Here's a synopsis courtesy of Douglas Young from IMDB:

In 2012, the United States economy collapses and life for everyone is not the same. Once a NASCAR champion, Jensen Ames, (Jason Statham), hits rock bottom and spent several years in prison. His life was improving and changing for the better after meeting and marrying Suzy (Janaya Stephens) and having a baby girl. Then the steel mill closes, and he loses his job. But that was not the worst thing to happen to Jenson that day. Suzy is brutally murdered, and he is framed for her murder.

Jenson is sent to Terminal Island, the worst and toughest for-profit prison in the country run by Warden Hennessey (Joan Allen). She has created the country's most popular pay-per-view sport, a kill-or-be-killed car race where the inmates race to win their freedom from prison after 5 wins. Every inmate driver is driving a monster car that they built which is loaded with machine guns, missiles, flamethrowers, napalm, and no rules.

Warden Hennessey convinces Jensen to secretly take the place of the late 4-time superstar winner, Frankenstein, and wear his metallic mask in the race. If Jensen wins just one race, he can go home to his baby daughter. To get to the finish line, Jensen must kill his competition before they kill him.

Why do I want to see it? Because Jason Statham is in it. lol. And the fact that I love action movies, the rest of the cast is great & it's a hot & unique concept.

RIGHTEOUS KILL
Directed by: Jon Avnet

Starring:
Robert Deniro (One of my favorites!)
Al Pacino (Other favorite!)
John Leguizamo (Uhh, favorite!)
50 Cent(he's a pretty good actor. I actually miss seeing him on screen)

Synopsis from IMDB:

After 30 years as partners in the pressure cooker environment of the NYPD, highly decorated Detectives David Fisk and Thomas Cowan should be ready for retirement, but aren't. Before they can hang up their badges, they are called in to investigate the murder of a notorious pimp, which appears to have ties to a case they solved years before.Like the original murder, the victim is a suspected criminal whose body is found accompanied by a four line poem justifying the killing.

When additional crimes take place, it becomes clear the detectives are looking for a serial killer, one who targets criminals that have fallen through the cracks of the judicial system. His mission is to do what the cops can't do on their own: take the culprits off the streets for good. The similarities between the recent killings and their earlier case raise a nagging question: Did they put the wrong man behind bars?

Why do I want to see it? Ummmmmm, did you look at the cast? I don't even care if they just sit there & stare at each other the whole movie. I'd watch all 3 hours of it... Besides, I love crime dramas. Love love love them.

BURN AFTER READING
Directed by: Joel & Ethan Coen

Starring:
George Clooney (favorite)
Brad Pitt (favorite)
John Malkovich (the truth)

Synopsis from Fandango:
A CIA agent who is currently in the process of writing a book loses the disc containing his only manuscript in this comedic tale of espionage.

Why do I want to see it? Refer to cast above. Also refer to the same explanation as "Righteous Kill." And by the way, have you SEEN any of the Ocean's? Clooney & Pitt work really well together. Duhhhh.

* Some notable mentions: These are the movies that I really wanted to see but haven't had a chance to. I might catch them while they're still in theaters or definitely catch them on DVD.

~ The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor
~ Pineapple Express
~ Bangkok Dangerous: This is coming out soon but I'm debating if I'm gonna go see it. The trailer makes it look like it'll be a good movie but I'm a little hesitant about it. One because the title is sooooo corny, two because Nicolas Cage still has a bad haircut & three because I hope it's not another one of those action movies that he isn't "fit for the part." He needs to consider another genre of film. Who knows, maybe I'll give it a shot...

Join me at the theater my fellow movie lovers! Whewwww!!! :-D
